The voice of AgriFoodTech in Europe

A European association connecting key players across the ecosystem to accelerate collaboration, visibility and innovation.

We don’t just connect the ecosystem — we structure it, represent it and help it grow o More than a network, FATE acts as a platform to structure, represent and accelerate the European AgriFoodTech ecosystem.

The European voice of AgriFoodTech

FATE is the association representing Europe’s AgriFoodTech ecosystem. We bring together startups, corporates, tech centres, tech providers, investors and institutions to advocate for the sector’s priorities, elevate its profile and turn collaboration into action.

What do we mean by AgriFoodTech?

AgriFoodTech refers to innovative technologies, solutions and business models applied across the agri-food value chain — from agricultural production and ingredients to food processing, packaging, sustainability, digitalisation and waste reduction.

FATE exists because Europe’s AgriFoodTech ecosystem is fragmented and needs a stronger, more connected voice.

FATE brings together startups, corporates, tech centres, tech providers, investors, and institutions. We turn connection into action by representing and championing the AgriFoodTech sector, fostering collaboration, and driving real impact. By tackling the sector’s biggest hurdles through specialized working groups on policy, funding, and scaling, we turn collective expertise into collaborative projects and high-impact connections.

If you are building or supporting AgriFoodTech in Europe, FATE is where you belong.

Why FATE Exists

Europe has the talent, science and entrepreneurial capacity to lead the future of AgriFoodTech. Yet the ecosystem remains fragmented, underfunded and insufficiently visible at a global level. FATE was created to help overcome these challenges and strengthen the sector through collaboration, representation and action.

Fragmentation

Europe’s AgriFoodTech ecosystem is highly fragmented across countries, organisations and sectors, limiting collaboration, knowledge exchange and scalability.

Funding

Many startups struggle to access the capital, infrastructure and industry connections needed to scale innovative food technologies.

Regulation

Complex and slow regulatory frameworks can delay innovation and hinder the adoption of new food technologies across Europe, slowing down their potential to create value for businesses and generate positive impact for society.

Visibility

European AgriFoodTech innovation lacks global visibility compared to ecosystems such as the US or Israel, limiting its ability to attract investment, talent and strategic partnerships, as well as to influence the policies and decisions shaping the future of the sector.

Our Mission: Innovating for a Sustainable Food Future

The food system is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by technology, innovation and the need to build healthier, more sustainable, ethical and accessible food systems. FATE was created to bring together, represent and strengthen the European AgriFoodTech organisations leading this change, helping them collaborate, grow, gain visibility and increase their impact across the value chain.

Our Mission

To promote growth and facilitate collaboration among foodtech and agrifoodtech companies in Europe, driving innovation and supporting technological solutions that contribute to healthier, more sustainable, ethical and accessible food for all.

Our vision

To become a reference point in the promotion and development of the foodtech and agrifoodtech industry in Europe, playing a catalytic role in business generation, access to public funding and collaborative relationships between the public and private sectors, as well as among companies in the sector.

Why FATE is different

FATE is not just a network. We are a European association built to represent, connect and strengthen the AgriFoodTech ecosystem — turning visibility, collaboration and shared challenges into collective action.

What We Do

We activate the European AgriFoodTech ecosystem by amplifying the sector’s relevance, influence and growth, connecting key players and creating collaboration opportunities.

Our goal is simple: to turn connections into real opportunities for collaboration, growth and impact across the AgriFoodTech ecosystem.

Policy & Regulation

We represent the sector in conversations with European institutions, contributing to more innovation-friendly regulatory frameworks for AgriFoodTech.

Investment & Scale-up

We facilitate connections between startups, corporates and investors to unlock collaboration, funding opportunities and pathways for scaling.

Events & International Presence

We create and promote opportunities for members to connect, collaborate and gain visibility through events, partnerships and strategic presence in key industry platforms.

Working Groups

FATE’s specialised working groups focus on regulation, funding, market access and scale-up. Through them, we address the sector’s core challenges by developing concrete initiatives that turn shared priorities into action.

Training & Knowledge Sharing

We foster knowledge exchange through expert sessions, peer learning and practical insights that strengthen the capabilities of our members.

Our Impact Across Europe

In a short time, FATE has connected key actors across the European AgriFoodTech ecosystem, helping transform fragmentation into collaboration and creating new opportunities for growth and visibility.
